Hatters Complete Road Trip With Loss to Belmont

Nashville, Tenn. ? Sophomore outside hitter Stephanie Canfield (Panama City, Fla.) tallied a team-high six kills as the Stetson volleyball team (2-13, 0-8 Atlantic Sun) suffered its fourth straight loss with a 25-16, 25-14, 25-17 loss at Belmont (11-5, 6-2 A-Sun) Saturday afternoon.  The match was played at Allen Arena on the Lipscomb University campus.

Stetson never got anything going offensively, hitting just .078 in the match and allowing Belmont to hit .314 as a team.  The Bruins controlled the pace of play the entire match as the Hatters never had the lead after starting out ahead 2-0 in the first set.

Freshman setter Jennica Hagberg (Niceville, Fla.) was the only player on either side with a double-double, recording 17 assists and 10 digs.  Freshman outside hitter Kaylee Ream (Venice, Fla.) notched 10 digs of her own.

Kayla Allbritton and Jenny Gray had nine kills each for Belmont while Channing Salava had 25 assists and Megan Clements collected 11 digs.

The Hatters begin a four-match homestand at 6 p.m. Friday, October 10 against A-Sun rival North Florida.  Live stats will be available for the match as will the Hatter Vision webcast featuring Bill Topping's commentary at www.GoHatters.com, the official online home of Stetson Athletics.
