Kennesaw, Ga. ? In its first match this season to go the full five sets, the Stetson volleyball team (1-9, 0-3 Atlantic Sun) fell 14-25, 25-18, 25-21, 15-25, 15-9 at conference foe Kennesaw State (2-9, 1-3 A-Sun) tonight.  Senior outside hitter Rebecca Orzechowicz (Miami, Fla.) and freshman setter Jennica Hagberg (Niceville, Fla.) each posted double-doubles.

Down two sets to one, Stetson put together a terrific effort in the fourth set, knocking down 13 kills and making just one error for a .480 attack percentage, the best team performance in a set this season.  Orzechowicz recorded kills on all four of her swings during that set to send the match into a winner-take-all race to 15.

Stetson scored the first point of the fifth set but never led again.  Down 7-4, the Hatters rallied for two points in a row to come within one, but the Owls put matters out of reach with a 4-0 run.

Orzechowicz finished with 12 kills and 12 digs for her second consecutive double-double, hitting .367 (her second-highest percentage of the season) in the match.  Hagberg racked up her third double-double of 2008 with 29 assists and 11 digs.  Freshman middle blocker Sam Freeman (Gulf Breeze, Fla.) collected six kills without an error and hit a match-high .462 while senior libero Melanie Boyer (New Holland, Ill.) notched 11 digs.

Rachael Albright (44 assists, 11 digs), Chelsey Denesha (18 kills, 14 digs) and Paris Leonce (11 digs, 10 kills) reached double-double status for Kennesaw State.  Sabrita Gulley and Asjia Fredericks had 16 and 13 kills, respectively, while Eman Burns tallied 21 digs.

The Hatters continue A-Sun play tomorrow at Mercer.  The match starts at 3 p.m.
