DeLand, Fla. - The Stetson volleyball team dropped to 1-23 on the season and 0-17 in the Atlantic Sun Conference with a 25-14, 25-18, 25-18 loss to visiting East Tennessee State (9-16, 7-9 A-Sun) at the Edmunds Center on Saturday afternoon.  Sophomore outside hitter Kaylee Ream (Venice, Fla.) had seven kills for the Hatters while senior right side Sarah Sears (Ashburn, Va.) handed out 15 assists on her Senior Day.

Sears, libero Anna Becker (McLean, Ill.), middle blocker Laura Boyd (La Crescenta, Calif.), setter Christie Johnson (Sebastian, Fla.) and defensive specialist Jessica Pauszek (Deltona, Fla.) were all honored in a pre-match ceremony for their contributions to Stetson Volleyball over the years.  All five were in the starting lineup as Johnson recorded three digs in her first on-court appearance for the Hatters.  Boyd finished with five kills and three solo blocks, Becker collected eight digs, Pauszek had three digs and Sears added two blocks and a dig to her 15 helpers.

McKayla Barber racked up 11 kills, four blocks and three service aces to lead ETSU to the victory; Erin Ryan added 10 kills for the Bucs.  Whitney Cogburn put up a 29-assist, 11-dig double-double in the first two sets alone while Jen Neice tallied 15 digs and Amanda Youell had 12 assists, all in the third set.

Junior setter Megan Stewart (St. Augustine, Fla.) had seven assists and five digs for Stetson while freshman defensive specialist Monique Russell (Phoenix, Ariz.) collected a team-high nine digs.

Stetson will be on the road for its next three matches, starting with a trip to the Peach State for two matches next weekend.  The Hatters visit Mercer at 7 p.m. Friday and face Kennesaw State at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.  A-Sun.TV will show both matches.
