Jacksonville Rolls Past Hatters

Jacksonville, Fla. - Host Jacksonville (10-8, 2-0 Atlantic Sun) overwhelmed the Stetson volleyball team (1-17, 0-3 A-Sun) at Swisher Gymnasium on Saturday, out-hitting the Hatters by over 300 points (.352 to .038) en route to a 25-11, 25-17, 25-14 A-Sun sweep.  Junior outside hitter Kaylee Ream (Venice, Fla.) had five kills for Stetson.

Sophomore setter Kelli Carneal (Fredericksburg, Va.) had 13 assists and freshman outside hitter Kaley Melville (New Germany, Minn.) added nine digs for the Hatters.  Senior defensive specialist Kerrie Dunn (Deltona, Fla.) made her career debut in today's match, finishing with one dig.

Kathryn Kane tallied 11 kills and hit .357 (11-1-28) to lead JU to its fifth straight win while setter Kendall Courtney contributed 34 assists, six service aces and five digs.  Ashley August paced the Dolphins defensively with 12 digs.

The Hatters continue A-Sun play at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 9 when they take on Campbell in Buies Creek, N.C.  Campbell's Fighting Camel Zone broadcast of the match will be simulcast on Hatter Vision at GoHatters.com.
