Emory, Lashley and Lokeinsky Earn Jewish Sports Review All-American Honors

DeLand, Fla. - Rising senior Sean Emory (Miami, Fla.) and rising sophomore Ryan Lashley (Lake Worth, Fla.) of the Stetson baseball team, along with former Hatter softball catcher Jessica Lokeinsky '10 (Cooper City, Fla.) have been named to the Jewish Sports Review's All-America Teams for the 2010 campaign.  The bi-monthly publication lists the trio and the other winners in the July/August 2010 issue.  Emory and Lashley earned Division I First Team honors in baseball while Lokeinsky was an Honorable Mention selection in softball.  In addition, Lashley was tabbed as JSR's national baseball Co-Freshman of the Year.

A mainstay in the top third of the Stetson lineup, Emory was named to the All-Atlantic Sun First Team after a junior season in which he started 49 games, primarily in right field.  He batted .359 with six doubles, three home runs and 32 RBI, stealing eight bases and recording a solid .444 on-base percentage in the process.

Lashley, who shared the national rookie honors with Stony Brook infielder Maxx Tissenbaum, enjoyed an outstanding debut season of college baseball, batting .335 and leading the Hatters in home runs (11), doubles (20), RBI (50).  His .556 slugging percentage was good for second on the team; he earned postseason All-Freshman accolades from the Atlantic Sun Conference.  The Jewish Sports Review is in fact the third national publication to recognize Lashley as a freshman star; the first baseman/shortstop dual threat was also similarly honored by Collegiate Baseball News and PING! Baseball.

On the softball diamond, the Second Team All-Atlantic Sun honoree Lokeinsky batted .261 with six home runs and 21 RBI in her final season at Stetson, helping lead the resurgent Hatters to a 34-21 (14-6 A-Sun) record and second place in the league standings.  Those statistics represented career highs in all three categories for Lokeinsky, who became the first Stetson catcher in Head Coach Frank Griffin's 14-year tenure to earn All-Conference honors.  She was also named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA)/Louisville Slugger All-South Region Second Team at season's end.
