Volleyball Falls To UNF 3-0

The Stetson volleyball team (3-19, 0-6 A-Sun) fell in straight sets to host North Florida in an Atlantic Sun Conference match Tuesday evening at the UNF Arena.  The Ospreys (10-7, 2-3 A-Sun) won by scores of 25-20, 25-16, and 25-14.

Stetson converted just 21 kills in the match and posted a .000 attack percentage.  The Hatters collected five blocks in the three sets, including four by junior Ellen Hawks who also had nine blocks on Saturday vs. ETSU.  Hawks ranks second in the A-Sun with 78 blocks, and is just five shy of tying her career high.

Kaley Melville and Cailyn Prewitt led the offense with seven and five kills, respectively.  Kelli Carneal dished out 14 assists, and Monique Russell led the defense with nine digs.

Paige Pridgeon led UNF with 12 kills.

The Hatters will host a rare conference / non-conference doubleheader on Saturday.  The Hatters will take on Florida Gulf Coast in an A-Sun match at 1 p.m., then play Savannah State in a non-conference match at 4 p.m.
