Stetson Lightweight Women Compete in Tri-Meet Regatta

The Stetson Lightweight Women's Four traveled to Lake Pickett in Orlando for a tri-meet regatta against in-state opponents UCF and Jacksonville.

The boat consisted of Jacqueline Horbert, Callie Peacock, Caitlin Burke and Caitlin Mooney and coxswain Kerry Burke. The lightweight crew was up against all open weight crews and came in 3rd ahead of Jacksonville, but behind both UCF boats.

"It was rough at the start, but we had a strong row and executed well," said senior Caitlin Burke. "This was a good opportunity for us to get an extra race piece in before we head to the state championships in a couple weeks."

In a recent USRowing Coaches poll the Stetson Lightweight Women were ranked 13th in the nation, tied with University of California.

The team will be traveling to Sarasota, Fla. on April 13th to compete in the FIRA State Championship.
