Incoming Stetson University volleyball student-athletes Madison Akins (Brooks, Ga.) and Tiffany Creamer (Newnan, Ga.) recently won the 2013 USA Volleyball Girls Junior National Volleyball Championship in the 18 National division.

Their team, Tsunami 18-Val, went a perfect 11-0 over four days in Dallas, Tex. against a strong field of teams that qualified from various regions throughout the country. In the championship match on July 1, Tsunami 18-Val defeated NorCal Black 2-1 (25-18, 17-25, 15-7) to capture the title.

Having earned gold medals in the final event of their prep career, Akins and Creamer will display their talents at Stetson this fall. The Hatters open the 2013 season on Aug. 30 in Laramie, Wyo.
