The Stetson University volleyball team dropped a hard-fought 3-0 decision to Nebraska-Omaha Saturday morning to start the second day of the Tangi Tourism Lion Classic in Hammond, La.
The Mavericks (3-6) won by scores of 25-17, 25-23, 25-22.
The Hatters (6-5) received a a 10-kill, .529 attack percentage performance from freshman Tiffany Creamer, while Kaley Melville added eight kills to bring her career total to 993.
However, Stetson hit a season-low .055.
"We didn't hit for a great percentage, but we played some pretty good defense," Stetson head coach Tim Loesch said. "The girls battled hard and we made it a pretty close match, even though we were beaten statistically."
The match featured 20 ties and 14 lead changes.
The Hatters will wrap up the tournament at 2 p.m. vs. Louisiana Tech.
