Highland Heights, Ky. -- The Stetson volleyball team dropped its third straight match Saturday, falling to Northern Kentucky 3-0 (25-18, 25-13, 25-23) in an Atlantic Sun Conference match at Regents Hall.
The Hatters fell to 14-10 overall, 5-5 in conference play. The Norse (16-8, 5-5) moved into a third-place tie with Stetson in the league standings.
For the second straight day, the Hatters struggled offensively, managing just 18 kills through the first two sets.
Stetson performed much better in the third set, collecting 14 kills and hitting .242 as a team. The Hatters led 23-22 late in the set but the Norse managed to tally the final three points to capture the victory.
Setter Danika Yoder collected 13 assists for the Hatters in the final frame. Erika White hit .800 (4-0-5) in the third set and finished the match with seven kills. Jessica Armstrong led the team with nine kills and McKenna Foster added eight kills and four blocks.
Shelby Connors assisted on a team-high five blocks in the match to improve her season average to a league-best 1.0 blocks-per-set. Alexa Drost and Madison Akins each recorded nine digs, while Kayla Weller distributed 15 assists.
Jenna Ruble netted 13 kills to lead NKU.
Stetson will return home on Saturday to host Kennesaw State. First serve is scheduled for 5 p.m. at the Edmunds Center.
