Jacksonville, Fla. -- Despite double-doubles from Madison Akins and Kayla Weller, Stetson fell 3-1 (25-20, 19-25, 27-25, 25-20) to host Jacksonville Friday night at Swisher Gym.
The Hatters (16-11, 7-6 Atlantic Sun) will need to win their regular season finale Saturday at UNF to claim the No. 3 seed for next week's Atlantic Sun tournament.
The Dolphins improved to 15-13, 6-7.
Weller posted a double-double of 47 assists and 17 digs, putting her over the 1000-assist mark for the season. She is the first player in school history to record 1000 assists in back-to-back seasons.
Akins led the team with 12 kills while adding 10 digs for her eighth double-double of the season. Jessica Armstrong (11 kills) and Shelby Connors (10 kills) joined Akins in double figure kills on the night.
Alexa Drost led the defense with a season-best 27 digs. Alexis Villa chipped in 11 digs.
The Hatters posted eight blocks in the match, including five by Erika White and three from Connors. Villa served four of the team's 10 aces.
First serve for the Hatters and Ospreys is set for 3 p.m. Saturday.
