Men's Tennis Inks Ireland's Top Junior

Coilin MacNamara, the top junior player in Ireland, has signed a National Letter-of-Intent to continue his tennis and academic careers at Stetson University, Associate Head Coach Christophe Noblet announced on Thursday.

MacNamara, who hails from Dublin, at some point was ranked as the number one player in his age group in Ireland every year from 2008 to 2014. He is the 2014 U-18 spring national champion, the national U-18 match play winter champion, and has twice won the All-Ireland doubles title.

“We are very excited to have Cóilín joining our team next fall,” said Noblet. “He is a great example of a blue collar-type of person, who works extremely hard to achieve his goals. Cóilín is also a physical tennis player who likes to compete against the best. He will certainly benefit from our training regimen and competitive schedule.”

In 2013 and 2014 MacNamara played in the number one singles position on the championship team in the National Interprovincial Championships.
