Jacksonville, Fla. – Emily Laskelle had a match-high 24 kills as Jacksonville defeated visiting Stetson 3-1 (25-19, 25-16, 20-25, 25-19) in an Atlantic Sun Conference match Friday evening at Swisher Gym.
Stetson freshman Madison Fitzsimmons registered a season-high 13 kills for the Hatters (7-12, 2-4 A-Sun). She also recorded six blocks, extending her conference-leading total to 81 blocks on the season.
Fellow freshman Haley Tippett picked up her third straight double-double with 13 kills and 13 digs while hitting .320 for the match. Madison Akins added 10 kills and a pair of blocks.
Also for Stetson, Kayla Weller collected 38 assists, nine digs, and four blocks. Michelle Kastner picked up 17 digs.
The Hatters hit just .016 in the first two sets combined. However, Stetson played much better in the second half of the match, posting 30 kills and hitting .231 after the intermission.
The Dolphins (7-11, 4-2) hit .255 for the match.
Stetson will complete its two-game road trip on Saturday as the Hatters will visit UNF at 5 p.m.
