The post-season hardware keeps pouring in for Stetson's Lucas Diniz, as today the senior was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America All Southeast Region second team.
Diniz, a senior midfielder, ranked second in the Atlantic Sun Conference with nine goals scored this season. Diniz scored a hat trick to open the season and was named NSCAA National Player of the Week. Diniz also finished with 19 points this season, third-most in the conference.
“After some wonderful performances and an outstanding career as a Hatter, it is very nice to see Lucas and our program being recognized on a regional level,” said Stetson head coach Ernie Yarborough. “Lucas has shown what can be achieved if you work hard in all aspects of being a student-athlete at Stetson.”
In addition to the pair of honors from the NSCAA, Diniz also earned mention as the A-Sun Scholar-Athlete of the Year for men's soccer, and was also named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District squad.
