Stetson University softball senior Courtney Brandt (Dade City, Fla.) has been named the Atlantic Sun Conference Pitcher of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Brandt went 2-0 with a spotless 0.00 ERA as the Hatters swept a four-game series from Morgan State. The right-handed pitcher tossed a no-hitter Saturday in Stetson's 9-0 win in five innings. She faced the minimum number of hitters (15) and struck out two.
It was her first career no-hitter and the first no-hitter by Hatter pitcher in five years.
On Friday, Brandt fired a five-hit shutout in the Hatters' 9-0 win in six innings. She did not walk a batter and fanned six.
It is Brandt's first career Pitcher of the Week award.
The Hatters (7-3) will host the Stetson Invitational this weekend at Patricia Wilson Field.
Note: Junior catcher Jessica Griffin was named College Sports Madness A-Sun Player of the Week after batting .769 with three home runs and 12 RBI during the four-game series vs. Morgan State.
