The Annual Chipper Jones Stetson Baseball Golf Classic is set for February 18 and 19 at LPGA International in Daytona Beach.
The event, which serves as the kickoff for the Stetson Hatters baseball season, includes a Gala event on Thursday evening, Feb. 18, followed by a golf tournament on the morning of the 19th prior to the Hatters' 98th season-opener at Melching Field. The Hatters will host the Blue Hens of the University of Delaware to start the 2016 season.
Tickets and sponsorships are available for the Chipper Jones Classic with prices starting at $650 for individual players up to $5,000 for Hall of Fame level sponsorships. All proceeds from the event go directly to benefit the Hatters Baseball program.
“On behalf of the Stetson Baseball Family, I want to express my sincerest gratitude to Chipper, Larry, Lynne and the Jones' Family Foundation for their continued support,” Hatters head coach Pete Dunn said.
The Thursday evening Gala will include cocktails and a silent auction as well as dinner, entertainment and a live auction. Items available during the auction range from Stetson Baseball items to donations from multiple current and former Major League players.
The golf tournament, which will be a four-person scramble, will begin with registration at 8 a.m. There will be a shotgun start to play at 9 a.m. and an awards banquet scheduled for 3 p.m. All entrants into the tournament will receive two tickets to the season-opening game.
