Hatters Fall 3-1 at Lipscomb

Morgan Eiland collects six blocks

Nashville, Tenn. – Lipscomb held off a late Stetson charge to post a 3-1 (25-14, 25-13, 20-25, 25-13) victory in an ASUN Conference match Friday night at Allen Arena.

Trailing 2-0 in the match, the Hatters (4-15, 1-3 ASUN) hit .391 in the third set and posted seven blocks to pull within 2-1.  Stetson scored the final five points in the frame to break a 20-20 tie. 

The Bisons (10-5, 3-1) answered with a 12-point victory in the fourth set to take the match.

Eva Deisa recorded 10 kills to lead the Hatters, while Charlotte Earnhart added seven kills of her own.  Karmen Reivik collected 16 assists and Roxy Lake tallied 14 assists.  McKenna Foster served three aces, giving her nine aces in the last two matches.

Defensively, the Hatters recorded 10.5 blocks, including six by Morgan Eiland and four each from Madison Akins and Shelby ConnorsMarissa Salazar picked up 19 digs.

Stetson will travel to Kennesaw, Ga. to face the Kennesaw State Owls at 7 p.m. Saturday.  The match will be broadcast live on ASUN.TV.
