Hatters Fall in ASUN Quarters, 3-0

FORT MYERS, Fla.—Three different players scored goals for Lipscomb as the Bisons ended Stetson's season with a 3-0 win in the quarterfinals of the Atlantic Sun Conference Men's Soccer Tournament, Thursday at FGCU Soccer Complex.

Stetson concludes its season with a 4-10-2 record. Lipscomb (10-5-2) advances to the semifinals where they will face FGCU on Saturday.

The Bisons dominated the match from start to finish, out-shooting Stetson by a 23-6 margin. Lipscomb scored twice in the first half to take control of the match and added an insurance goal early in the second half.

"Leading up to the game we were pretty positive and we felt we had more than a fighting chance to get a positive result," Stetson interim head coach Jared Vock said. "But when you give up goals early it's tough to come back from that. For our seniors this isn't a good feeling right now.

Lipscomb opened the scoring in the 27th minute when Logan Paynter scored from the penalty kick area off a cross by Austin Eager.

The Bisons doubled their lead in the 32nd minute as Ivan Sakou used a give and go with Ivan Alvarado to score inside of 10 yards for a 2-0 advantage.

Joe Kerridge sealed the win for the Bisons with a goal in the 57th minute.

Paul Ladwig made five saves in goal for the Hatters. Chris Zappia made three stops for the Bisons.

Thursday's game marked the end of the careers of six seniors. Trent Austin, David Caulfield, Eyal Cohen, Sebastian Contreras, Ladwig, and Arturo Roosen all played their final contest as Hatters.
