Hatters Overwhelmed in Loss at Iowa

IOWA CITY, Iowa—Iowa's Cordell Pemsl and Isaiah Moss each scored 21 points to lead the Hawkeyes to a 95-68 win over Stetson on Monday at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
 
The Hawkeyes (4-5) shot 49 percent for the game while limiting the Hatters to 35 percent from the field. Stetson made just 30 percent of its shots in the first half as the Hawkeyes raced to a 44-28 halftime lead.
 
Stetson (4-6) twice cut the deficit to less than 16 points in the second half, the last time coming when a Clay Verk jumper made it 64-49 with 12:53 left. Iowa responded with a 14-0 run, forging a 78-49 lead with 9:36 to play. The Hatters never seriously threatened again.
 
Leo Goodman led Stetson with a career-high tying 14 points. It's the second straight game in double figures for the sophomore, who scored 12 on Saturday against Florida College. Derick Newton scored 12 and Luke Doyle chipped in with 11 points.
 
Joining Pemsl and Moss in double figures was Big Ten leading scorer Peter Jok, who finished with 15 on 4 of 13 shooting, 10 points below his average.

Kevin Ndahiro produced his second straight strong effort for the Hatters, finishing with 8 points, 6 rebounds & 2 blocks in 12 minutes … he had 9-11 on Saturday against Florida College … Derick Newton extended his double figure scoring streak to 15 games … B.J. Glasford grabbed a career-high 8 rebounds to lead the Hatters.
