DeLand, Fla. -- Kayla Drury went 2-for-3 with a single, a double, and four RBI to help lead Stetson to a 10-0 victory over Sacred Heart in game two of a doubleheader Tuesday evening at Patricia Wilson Field.
The Pioneers (3-6) won the first game 4-3 in eight innings.
Jessie TenBroeck also singled, doubled, homered, and drove in three runs on the day for the Hatters (17-10). Ashly Smith added three hits and had two stolen bases.
Chelsea Hostetler (4-5) pitched a six-hit shutout over five innings in game two. She walked none and struck out two.
The Hatters left 15 runners on base in the opener, but pounded out 10 runs on 10 hits in just four innings in game two.
"I thought in the first game, Sacred Heart just had the one good inning where they strung four hits together, and one of them was a home run," Stetson head coach Frank Griffin said. "They just outhit us. In the second game, we were able to hit the ball in some in some holes instead of right at them. I was real proud that we bounced back the way we did.
"I thought Chelsea did a good job," Griffin added. "She shut them out for five innings. She looked better than she has recently, and I was glad to see that improvement."
Drury, Talli Sharp and Jazmynn Jesse each had two hits for the Hatters in game two. TenBroeck and Drury each doubled with the bases loaded during Stetson's six-run third inning.
In game one, the Hatters scored twice in third inning, but Sacred Heart's three-run home run in the top of the fifth gave the Pioneers a 3-2 lead.
Stetson was down to its final out in the bottom of the seventh, but back-to-back walks by Morgan Hatch and Molly Shasteen loaded the bases and forced home a run to send the game to extra innings.
Sacred Heart scored a run in the top of the eighth and held off Stetson in the bottom half of the frame.
Brooke Hutto (10-3) suffered just her third loss of the year in a complete game effort.
Stetson, which ranks 20th in the NCAA in steals-per-game, stole 11 more bases on Tuesday, including a season-high seven in game one.
The Hatters will host the Stetson Classic this weekend at Patricia Wilson Field. The Hatters will face Binghamton on Friday at 4 p.m.
