Former Hatter Jama Sharp Joins Texas Longhorns Staff

Austin, Texas -- Former Stetson University all-conference point guard Jama Sharp has been hired as the video coordinator at the University of Texas, the Longhorns women's basketball program announced on Monday.

"Jama is winner, pure and simple," Stetson head coach Lynn Bria said. "She really helped put Stetson on the map. She is very smart, she has a great knowledge of the game, and her work-ethic is tremendous. Her future is very bright, and I know she is going to make the Longhorns proud."

Sharp joins the Texas women's basketball staff from the University of Florida, where she has spent the past year as the women's basketball program's assistant video coordinator.

A Mooresville, Ind., native, Sharp was a two-time Atlantic Sun first team all-conference selection during her four seasons with the Hatters (2011-15). She scored 1,261 career points, currently the 13th-highest total in school history, while also topping 400 assists and 250 steals. She helped lead Stetson to an ASUN Championship and an NCAA tournament berth in 2013. In 2015, she was named a top-30 Senior CLASS Award candidate and the Stetson University Female Athlete of the Year.
