Box Score Orlando, Fla. -- The Stetson volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (25-15, 25-12, 25-16) decision to Stony Brook Friday evening at the UCF Invitational. The Hatters (0-2) also fell 3-1 (25-17, 22-25, 25-9, 25-17) to Kent State earlier in the day.
Against Stony Brook (1-1), the Hatters hit .110 and connected for just 23 kills. Madison Akins recorded five kills, including the 800th kill of her career, while Anna Bezhan and McKenna Foster also recorded five kills apiece. Roxy Lake collected 13 assists, and Bezhan picked up six digs.
Shelby Connors served four aces on the day, including two in the third set against Stony Brook.
Stetson will face tournament host UCF at 7:00 p.m. Saturday.
