Fort Myers, Fla. -- Florida Gulf Coast posted a .385 attack percentage and defeated visiting Stetson 3-0 (25-14, 25-12, 25-14) in the ASUN Conference opener Saturday evening at Alico Arena.

Madison Akins and McKenna Foster each had six kills to lead the Hatters (3-13, 0-1 ASUN). Roxy Lake and Karmen Reivik recorded eight assists apiece, and Marissa Salazar picked up seven digs. 

The Eagles (13-2, 1-0 ASUN) were led by Giovanna Bogiotti with 11 kills. FGCU owned a 13-1 advantage in blocks.

Stetson will return home to face USC Upstate at 7 p.m. Friday and NJIT at 3 p.m. Saturday.
