Box Score 2 Tampa, Fla. -- Stetson dropped a pair of 3-0 matches to Georgetown (25-21, 25-17, 25-23) and USF (25-16, 25-16, 25-19) Saturday in the final day of the USF Invitational at the Sun Dome.
Facing a challenging early season schedule, the Hatters completed their second tournament of the year with an overall mark of 0-7.
Against Georgetown (2-4), junior Shelby Connors led the way with nine kills, three blocks, and a .600 attack percentage (9-0-15). Roxy Lake collected 22 assists, while McKenna Foster (11 digs), Madison Akins (10 digs) and Marissa Salazar (10 digs) each recorded double-digit dig totals.
In the USF (6-0) match, Akins recorded her first double-double of the season and the 12th of her career with an 11-kill, 13-dig performance. Lake dished out 25 assists, and Salazar picked up 16 digs.
Eva Deisa added seven kills and seven digs, while Charlotte Earnhart posted a career-best six kills.
The Hatters hit a season-high .172 against Georgetown and .116 vs. USF.
Akins was named to the all-tournament team.
Stetson will compete at the UNC Asheville Invitational next weekend in Asheville, N.C.
