Hatters Begin Road Swing at FGCU

DeLand, Fla. – The Stetson volleyball team will begin the second half of conference play Saturday as the Hatters travel to Fort Myers to face the FGCU Eagles.  First serve will be at 6 p.m. with video coverage on Facebook Live.

The Hatters (3-16, 2-5 ASUN) are coming off a 2-2 split on a four-game homestand that featured wins against NJIT and USC Upstate.  Stetson now faces a stretch of five consecutive road games spanning the next three weeks.

FGCU (16-6, 6-1) has won seven straight matches overall and 19 consecutive sets.  The Eagles are tied for first in the ASUN standings with Kennesaw State and Jacksonville.

FGCU leads the all-time series 18-2 over Stetson, including a 3-0 win in DeLand on Sept. 23.

In addition to the live video stream, live stats, the Stetson volleyball twitter feed, and the HatCheck text messaging service will provide live updates as well.

ASUN Rankings
The Hatters currently rank second in the league with a 15.8 digs-per-set average.  Stetson also ranks third in the league with a 1.9 blocks-per-set average.  

Attack Percentage
The Hatters are hitting .257 as a team in their three victories this season.  Stetson is 3-0 when winning the attack percentage statistic and 0-16 when not.

Double-Doubles
Eva Deisa has six double-doubles on the season, including four in a row.  Naina Ivanova has 10 assist-dig double-doubles and also has a streak of four in a row.

Notes: The Hatters have won at least one set in 14 of 19 matches this season ... In her past four matches, Anna Bezhan is averaging 9.5 kills and 14.3 digs per match ... Chelcie Spence has recorded double digits in digs in 14 straight matches ... Charlotte Earnhart and Hao Jin each have seven aces in conference play ... Shelby Connors needs one block for 350 in her career.
