Collins Named ASUN Player of the Week

Stetson's Sarah Collins has been named ASUN Conference women's soccer player of the week, the league office announced on Monday.

A senior, Collins earns the league's weekly award for the second time this season after scoring a goal and adding an assist in Stetson's 2-1 win over Jacksonville in last Saturday's regular-season finale.

Collins, who has won the ASUN's award six times in her career, currently ranks second in the conference in both goals (9) and points (22). She enters this weekend's conference tournament with 92 career points. Already Stetson's all-time leader with 37 goals, Collins needs six points to become the top Hatter in that category.

The Hatters (9-3-3) are the No. 3 seed for the conference tourney. They host Jacksonville, 7 p.m., Saturday, at the Athletic Training Center. The winner advances to the semifinal round next weekend in Nashville, Tenn.
