Hatters Second After Two Rounds at LPGA

Carolin Schart and Sarah May among the top 3

Daytona Beach, Fla. -- The Stetson women's golf team shot 300 Saturday and remains in second place after two rounds of the Xavier Invitational at LPGA International.

With a two-day score of 595, the Hatters trail Daytona State (589) by just six strokes heading into Sunday's final round.

Carolin Schart had Stetson's low round of the day, posting a +1 73 to move to even par (144) for the tournament. She carded three birdies on the back nine and is in second place individually, three strokes back of the leader.

Sarah May hit 15 pars on Saturday to finish with a +3 75. She is tied for third place overall with a two-day score of 146.

Also for Stetson, Erikah Neger and Aly Moya are each tied for 12th (153), Paige Kemp is tied for 26th (158), and Emma McCloskey is 44th (175) while competing as an individual.

The eight-team field also includes Seminole State, Xavier, South Alabama, Florida Atlantic, Arkansas State and Savannah State.
