Women's Golf Opens Season with Seminole State Warm-up

DeLAND, Fla. – Coming off a runner-up finish in the ASUN Championship last season – their highest finish under Head Coach Teresa Brown and the program's best showing since winning it all in 2011 – the Stetson women's golf team is ready to begin the 2025-26 campaign with momentum. The Hatters will open their season locally at the Seminole State Warm-Up in Orlando. Stetson last competed in the opening-season tournament in 2024, taking first place out of six teams, with Filippa Jansson and Grace Smith finishing first and second, respectively.

The tournament will be held at Rio Pinar Country Club in Orlando from Monday, September 8, through Tuesday, September 9, and will feature eight teams: Tampa, Eastern Florida State College, Palm Beach State College, Lake-Sumter State College, Florida Southern College, and Florida Gateway College.

For this week's event, the Hatters will feature a starting lineup of Isaki Sakashita, Alisa Brannock, Julieto Oviedo, Maggie Potash, and Filippa Jansson. Anna Huettl, Bridget Butler, and Elizabeth Eberle will compete as individuals.

Building on last year's success, Stetson brings back nearly its entire roster and adds new depth with transfers Bridget Butler and Anna Huettl, along with freshman Maggie Potash. Returning standouts include ASUN Freshman of the Year Isaki Sakashita and All-ASUN Second Team selection Filippa Jansson, who will once again be central to the Hatters' push for a conference title.
