The Pioneer Football League (PFL) has announced its all-conference teams for the 2017 season and the Hatters had representation as graduate linebacker
Jeb Boudreaux was named first team all-PFL, while teammate
JJ Henderson was named to the league's second team in 2017.
Â
Boudreaux made the first team for the second year in a row, and just like last season led the Hatters and PFL in tackles. The Mobile, Ala. product had 115 tackles, including 68 solo and 13 tackles for loss. He averaged 10.5 tackles per game which is currently tied for eighth highest in the NCAA FCS division. He also had a team-high 5.5 quarterback sacks, eight quarterback hurries and three forced fumbles.
Â
He amassed double-digits in tackles in six out of 11 games this season. He had a season-high 15 tackles at Sacred Heart on Sept. 2 and 14 tackles against San Diego on Oct. 28. He added 12 tackles in a game against Davidson on Oct. 14, 11 each against Butler on Nov. 4 and Jacksonville on Nov. 11 and 10 against Brown on Oct. 7. He also had nine tackles in four other games this season. He had a season-high four quarterback hurries against Campbell on Sept. 23.
"I am very proud of Jeb and this well deserved accomplishment," linebackers coach
Bob Majeski said. "Jeb is not only a great football player, but a great human being. He has the heart of a champion who never quits. Because of his unbelievable work ethic, he was able to maximize his ability on the field."
One day removed from earning the PFL's freshman Defensive Player of the Year award, Henderson earned a spot on the league's second team. He amassed 71 tackles, including 50 solo, and 2.5 tackles for loss. He led the team with 11 pass breakups. His 71 tackles was 10th most amongst FCS freshman nationwide, while nine of his 11 pass breakups came against fellow PFL foes, including a season-high four against Davidson College on Oct. 14.
Â
Henderson, a Tampa native, had a season-high 10 tackles against San Diego on Oct. 28 and nine at Marist College on Sept. 9.
While playing brilliantly on defense, Henderson also played a big role as a special teams for the Hatters. He amassed 144 yards in returns and became the first player in Stetson's modern era to return a non-blocked punt for a touchdown when he returned one 81 yards for a score in the game against Davidson.
"I am extremely proud of JJ and all he did to strengthen our secondary," defensive backs coach
Cliff Odom said. "He is a fantastic athlete and a great person and he's going to be a great leader on this team. This award is well deserved and I could not be happier for him."
Â
In addition to Boudreaux and Henderson, seven other Hatters were named PFL Honorable Mentions for the 2017 season: graduate defensive lineman

Jeff Fallabel, redshirt freshman punter
Matias Gasc, freshman wide receiver
Justin Jordan, senior defensive back
