No. 14 Colorado Too Much For Hatters

DeLAND—Sam Maguire, Lindsay Summers and Shelby Lehmann each scored goals for Stetson but No. 14 Colorado proved to be too much as the Buffaloes downed the Hatters, 22-3, Sunday at the Athletic Training Center.

Colorado (3-0) out-shot the Hatters, 35-11. Six different Buffaloes scored two or more goals, led by Margie Moore, Sophia Castillo and Emily Knapp with three each.

The Buffaloes took control of the game early on, scoring their first goal 69 seconds into the match. Colorado, in fact, scored the game's first six goals before Maguire snapped the run with her first goal of the season with 19:39 left in the half as Stetson (0-2) made it a 6-1 contest.

Colorado responded to Maguire's score by netting the next nine goals for a 15-1 lead at halftime.

Lehmann scored the first goal of the second half with 26:43 to play and, after three Colorado goals, Summers scored her goal with 11:12 left.

Freshman goalie Liza Diamond made seven saves for the Hatters. Colorado's goalie duo of Paige Soenksen and Sophia Gambitsky combined to make five saves.

The Hatters net host USC, noon, Sunday, Feb. 26 at the ATC.
