Second Half Surge Leads Ospreys Past Hatters

JACKSONVILLE—North Florida scored 53 points in the second half and shot 61 percent in the final 20 minutes as the Ospreys handed Stetson a 96-64 defeat in Atlantic Sun Conference play on Saturday.
 
Dallas Moore led UNF (10-16 overall, 5-4 ASUN) with 22 points while Chris Davenport added 20 and nine rebounds. The Ospreys took control of the game with a 13-3 run at the start of the second half, breaking open what was a 43-38 affair at halftime.
 
Derick Newton led Stetson with 23 points and a career-high 13 rebounds. Leo Goodman scored 15 and Divine Myles added 13.
 
Stetson shot just 33 percent for the game, including 23 percent in the second half.
 
News & Notes
Newton topped his previous rebounding career-high of 11, whichn he had accomplished five times … the double-double was his fourth of the season and 11th of his career … he scored over 20 for the 11th time this season and fifth time in the last six games … Goodman was 3 of 7 from 3-point range; the rest of the team was 0-for-10.
