Hatters Garner Academic Recognition from ITA

Stetson women's tennis recently received both team and individual recognition for academic excellence by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

The Hatters were named as an All-Academic Team, and Sofia Ferding, Isabella Fernandez, Brittany Hill, Jordan King and Maja Salibasic each earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors.

The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any member program that has a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale). The 2016-17 Hatters finished the year with an impressive 3.35 GPA.

"We had a great result in the classroom this year overall as a team, especially in the spring when we were in full season," head coach Travis Sandlant said. "I am very proud of their continuing success."

ITA Scholar-Athletes must have at least a 3.50 grade-point average during the 2016-17 academic year and been enrolled at least two semesters at their respective institutions.
