Hatters Blanked by Loyola Chicago

Stetson men's soccer was unable to crack the scoring column as the Hatters suffered a 1-0 defeat to Loyola Chicago, Sunday in DeKalb, Ill.

Loyola's Alec Lasinski scored the game's only goal in the 68th minute, scoring from just inside of six yards.

The Hatters (1-4-0) managed just four shots for the match, with only one on-goal. Loyola launched seven shots, getting two on-goal.

Stetson had a couple of good scoring opportunities, both courtesy of Ian McCauley, but the Hatters came up empty. McCauley's header in the 22nd minute hit the cross bar, and another header attempt in the 77th minute was saved by Ramblers keeper Aidan Alyward.

Joseph Melong made his third straight start in goal for the Hatters and recorded one save.

Stetson is scheduled to visit USF, 7 p.m., Thursday but the status of that game is obviously in jeopardy due to Hurricane Irma.
