Hatters Continue Road Trip at FAU Invitational

The Stetson volleyball team (0-9) will continue its road trip this weekend as the Hatters travel to Boca Raton, Fla. for the FAU Invitational. Here is the schedule:

Friday
11 a.m. vs. Florida Atlantic (Live Video ($) / Live Stats)
4:30 p.m. vs. North Dakota State (Live Stats)

Saturday
11 a.m. vs. Savannah State (Live Stats)

The All-Time Series
Stetson is 4-35 all time vs. FAU and 15-0 vs. Savannah State. The Hatters will be meeting NDSU for the first time.

Road Warriors
The Hatters have been on the road ever since flying to Texas on Sept. 7.  Stetson spent five nights in Houston (with one hotel change) before traveling via charter bus to Mobile, Ala. on Sept. 12.  On Sept. 13, the Hatters continued their journey as far as Orlando which included lengthy traffic delays and an evening practice at UCF.  The team completed its 1,150-mile journey to Boca Raton, Fla. on Sept. 14.

We Dig It
Stetson continues to excel on the defensive end this season.  The Hatters currently average 16.6 digs-per-set, the second-highest total in the ASUN and a Top-50 mark in the NCAA.  

Individually, three Hatters rank among the top 11 in the league in digs-per-set.  Chelcie Spence ranks sixth (3.66), Naina Ivanova ranks 10th (3.11), and Eva Deisa ranks 11th (2.94).

Block Party
Stetson also ranks third in the league with a 2.03 blocks-per-set average.  As a team, the Hatters collected 24 blocks in three matches last weekend.  Middle blockers Hao Jin (1.00 bps) and Shelby Connors (0.77 bps) rank fourth and 10th, respectively, among all individuals in the ASUN.

Big Numbers for Ivanova 
Freshman setter Naina Ivanova has recorded exactly 300 assists in the first three weeks of the season.  She currently ranks third in the league in assists-per-set (8.57).

Deisa Sparks the Offense
Sophomore outside hitter Eva Deisa leads the team offensively with 95 kills and a 2.71 kills-per-set average.  She has recorded three double-doubles on the season.

Strong Schedule
After three weeks, all nine of Stetson's previous opponents currently own winning records, including 11-0 Providence and 11-2 Stephen F. Austin.
