Hatters Fall in Four Sets to FAU

Rebecca Ingram leads with nine kills

Boca Raton, Fla. -- Freshmen Rebecca Ingram and Riley Nieporte combined for 17 kills as Stetson fell 3-1 (25-21, 22-25, 25-11, 25-12) to host Florida Atlantic Friday afternoon at the FAU Invitational.

The Hatters (0-10) posted a .218 attack percentage in splitting the first two sets, but hit just .016 over the final two frames.

Ingram collected nine kills and hit .333 for the match to help lead the offense.  Nieporte, playing in her hometown of Boca Raton, tallied a season-high eight kills.

Middle blockers Shelby Connors and Hao Jin each collected four blocks (one solo and three assists), while the Hatters recorded nine blocks as a team. Stetson also served a season-high seven aces.

Naina Ivanova registered 24 assists and Chelcie Spence picked up 11 digs.

The Owls (7-2) hit .266 for the match.

The Hatters will return to action today at 4:30 p.m. vs. North Dakota State.
