McCauley's Late Goal Gives Hatters ASUN Win

Ian McCauley scored the game's only goal in the 85th minute to lead Stetson to a 1-0 win at North Florida in the ASUN Conference opener for both teams, Sunday in Jacksonville.

McCauley scored off a corner kick from Raphael Northoff, heading the ball past UNF keeper Juanes Fajardo and giving the Hatters (3-4, 1-0) their second straight win.

Stetson dominated play statistically, ripping 17 shots to just five for the Ospreys (1-5-1, 0-1-0). Stetson keeper Joseph Melong recorded his second shutout on the season, making two saves.

Since suffering a 5-0 loss at Western Michigan in the second match of the season the Hatters have allowed just four goals in five games. The Hatters are 3-2-0 in those contests.

The Hatters next host ASUN foe Lipscomb, 7 p.m., Wednesday at the Athletic Training Center.
