Balanced Hatters Blank Owls, 3-0

Adrianna Suarez, Sarah Collins and Hailey Williams each scored goals as Stetson extended its unbeaten streak to seven games with a 3-0 win over ASUN Conference foe Kennesaw State, Friday at the Athletic Training Center in DeLand.

Stetson (6-2-2, 1-0-1 ASUN) notched its first conference win of the season with a dominating second-half effort. The Hatters scored all three goals in the second period to break open what was a scoreless game at halftime.

Suarez put the Hatters on the board in the 63rd minute, scoring from just in front of the goal off an assist from Sarah Collins.

Collins followed less than four minutes later with her ASUN-leading eighth goal of the season. The score was set up by a long pass by Lily Ammon, who registered her second assist of the year.

Williams finished off the Owls (5-4-3, 0-1-1) with her goal in the 83rd minute. Lindsay Parent sent Williams a perfect cross from the opposite side of the box and Williams pounded a shot past KSU keeper Tiffany Sornpao for her second goal of the season.

Stetson goalkeeper Emily Plotz made seven saves as she registered her fifth shutout of the year.

The Hatters continue their weekend home stand when they welcome ASUN foe Lipscomb to the ATC, 1 p.m., Sunday.
