The Eagles (10-8, 1-0) used a 19-0 run in the first half to change a 17-12 lead into a 36-12 advantage and never looked back. FGCU shot 68 percent in the first half and led 52-23 at halftime.

The Hatters were limited to 32 percent shooting for the game. FGCU owned a 42-21 rebounding advantage.

The Hatters next host NJIT, 7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 11 at Edmunds Center.

Quoting Coach Williams
"We didn't come out with enough toughness in the first half and it showed in the score. Offensively we didn't move the ball and took too many quick shots and we have to get better in that area. FGCU was aggressive, and they were sick and reeling and they got well on us."
