Stetson women's soccer plays the penultimate game of its regular season on Sunday when the Hatters visit ASUN Conference newcomer Liberty for a 1 p.m. match in Lynchburg, Va.
 
Both the Hatters (4-8-3, 1-4-1) and Flames (3-10-0, 2-3-0) are fighting for their postseason lives. Neither team has yet clinched a berth in the ASUN Tournament and both likely need to run the table in order to qualify for the six-team event.
 
The Hatters finally got back on the winning side of the ledger last Sunday with a thrilling 4-2 win over North Alabama. Stetson jumped out to a 3-0 lead at halftime before UNA charged back to get within 3-2, but a late goal by Stetson's Lindsey Parent sealed the outcome for the Hatters as they snapped a nine-match winless streak.
 
Nicole Foley, Hailey Williams, Jordan Ross and Parent each scored for the Hatters in their first meeting with the Lions.
 
Liberty has begun to rebound from an awful start to the season which saw the Flames open up by losing nine of their first 10 matches. But after win over UNA and Lipscomb, Liberty dropped a 1-0 decision on Thursday at FGCU. The Flames close out the season next weekend at home against North Florida.
 
News & Notes: Sunday's meeting will be third all-time between the Hatters and Flames but the first since 2008 … Liberty leads the series 1-0-1 … the four goals scored last Sunday against North Alabama are a season-high … Jordan Ross and Nicole Foley each scored their first collegiate goals last Sunday.
