Two teams battling for positioning in the ASUN standings square off Sunday afternoon when the Stetson Hatters visit the Liberty Flames.  First serve at the Vines Center is set for 12 p.m. with live coverage on ESPN+.

Stetson (12-7) and Liberty (7-13) enter the match tied for fourth place in the conference standings with identical 4-3 league records. The teams are meeting for the first time as ASUN rivals and for the first time overall since 2010.

"It is another great opportunity for us to improve and to see a new conference team that we have never played before," Stetson head coach Yang Deng said.  "Of course every road trip is challenging, but we are ready to compete."

The Hatters have won three of their last four matches despite falling 3-0 at Florida Gulf Coast on Tuesday. The match marked the return of setter Emily DeStaffino, who had been sidelined with an injury since Aug. 31.  DeStaffino's return also allows Naina Ivanova to slide to the back row to bolster a defense that already leads the ASUN and ranks 18th in the NCAA in digs (17.41 dps).

"Having another person like Nani that is very experienced passing and controlling the first touch will in turn help Emily set up a better system," Deng said. "We still have a lot of little things to work on, but it has been a smooth transition so far."

Liberty is coming off a five-set loss to FGCU on Friday.  Casey Goodwin leads the Flames with a 2.59 kps average.

Sunday marks the end of the first half of conference play.  Stetson will begin the second half of ASUN play Tuesday night at Jacksonville.

In addition to the video coverage, live stats, the Stetson volleyball twitter feed, and the HatCheck text messaging service will provide live updates as well.
