Hatters Downed at FGCU in Season Finale

FGCU's Alyssa Abbondandolo scored a pair of goals to lead the Eagles to a 3-0 win over Stetson in the Hatters' season finale, Saturday in Fort Myers, Fla.

Stetson concludes the season with a 4-10-3 overall record and 1-6-1 ASUN mark. FGCU improves to 12-3-2 and 5-3.

The game was scoreless at halftime, thanks mostly to Stetson goalkeeper Emily Plotz making eight saves. But in the second half the Eagles finally broke through. Abbondandolo scored back-to-back goals, in the 48th and 72nd minute.

FGCU's Brianna Hatfield scored the final goal with less than a minute to play for the final margin.

Plotz finished the game with 12 saves – one off her season high – as FGCU took 22 shots to juts five for the Hatters.
