Hatters Blank North Florida 3-0

Jacksonville, Fla. -- Senior middle blocker Hao Jin led all players with 12 kills and five blocks as Stetson swept UNF 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 25-22) in an ASUN match Wednesday night at UNF Arena.

Julie Varga added 10 kills and a career-high 24 digs for the Hatters (10-6, 2-2 ASUN), who snapped a mini two-game skid.  The Ospreys (6-16) fell to 1-5 in the conference.

Stetson did not trail in either of the first two sets, but the Hatters had to rally from a 9-5 deficit in the third set to earn their second sweep of the season.

Varga, playing both right side and the back row, committed just one error in 24 attempts for a .375 attack percentage.  Anna Bezhan also finished with 10 kills including the game-winner in the third set.  Naina Ivanova registered her 10th double-double of the season with 33 assists and 12 digs.  Chelcie Spence picked up 13 digs and Eva Deisa added 11.

The Hatters collected eight blocks as a team including four solo blocks by four different players.  

Stetson also outhit UNF .214 to .113.

The Hatters will return to the Edmunds Center this weekend to host NJIT on Friday night and North Alabama on Saturday night.

Notes: Stetson improved to 9-2 when hitting .200 or better ... The Hatters are 11-5 in third sets ... Stetson is also 7-1 in green uniforms ... Stetson's last ASUN road win came Oct. 17, 2015 - also a 3-0 win at UNF.
