Greenwood finished with 26 points, and also had 10 rebounds. Veal had 24 and 10 assists. Christiaan Jones led Stetson with 15 points.

The Hatters (1-3) and Lions (2-3) played an up-and-down first half, with each team exchanging baskets and leads. Jones scored 13 of his points in the first half as Stetson went into halftime with a 37-36 lead.

The second half wasn't as kind to the Hatters. After shooting nearly 55 percent in the first half, Stetson made just 7 of 26 shots from the field in the second half.

Southeastern took control of the game early in the second half. A Jones layup gave the Hatters a 45-42 lead with 15:10 to play, but the Lions went on a 17-5 run over the next 4:18 and took a 59-50 lead on a three-point play by Veal. Stetson never got closer than eight points the rest of the way.

Jones was the only Hatter to score in double figures. Kenny Aninye scored eight of his nine total points in the first half.

The Hatters shot just 40 percent for the game, and were 5 of 14 from three point range. Stetson, which entered the contest shooting just under 76 percent from the free throw line, was 14 of 26 at the stripe on Saturday.

Southeastern shot 45 percent from the field and out-rebounded the Hatters, 38-31.

Up next, the Hatters return home for the first time since opening night when they welcome Robert Morris to the Edmunds Center, 7 p.m., Monday.
