Addi Walters Named ASUN Newcomer of the Week

DeLand, Fla. -- Stetson University junior guard Addi Walters has been named the ASUN Conference Newcomer of the Week, the league announced on Monday.

Walters scored 17 points in Stetson's near-upset at No. 9 Tennessee last Wednesday, netting 13 points in the first quarter alone. She shot 58.3 percent (7-for-12) from the floor and made 3-of-5 attempts from beyond the arc. She also grabbed three rebounds while playing 35 minutes.

Stetson led the Lady Vols by 16 at the half and by 20 in third quarter before eventually falling 65-55.

For the season, Walters is averaging 11.6 points-per-game and is shooting at a .446 clip. She leads the team with 19 3-point field goals and is a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line.

It is Walters first weekly honor from the ASUN.

The Hatters (1-7) will visit No. 12 Texas (7-2) at 2 p.m. ET Sunday.
