DeLAND, Fla. – Former Stetson women's basketball standout Cameron Thomas will continue her career at the professional level after signing with CSM Târgoviște of Romania for the 2026-27 season.
Thomas heads overseas following a decorated two-year career in DeLand that saw her establish herself as one of the Atlantic Sun Conference's premier scorers and one of the most productive offensive players in recent Stetson history.
The Hazel Crest, Illinois, native capped her collegiate career in 2025-26 by earning Second Team All-ASUN honors while leading the conference with 521 total points. Thomas averaged 16.3 points per game while shooting 43.4 percent from the field and 36.3 percent from three-point range, the latter ranking second in the league. She also established a Stetson single-season record with 82 made three-pointers.
Thomas produced several memorable performances during her senior campaign, highlighted by a career-high 35 points in a road victory over UCF. The performance tied for the fifth-highest single-game scoring total in program history and helped the Hatters earn their first victory over the Knights in 10 years and their first regular-season win over a power-conference opponent since 2017.
She added 32 points and seven three-pointers against Stonehill and finished the season with nine 20-point performances. Thomas helped Stetson reach 20 wins and advance to the ASUN Championship semifinals, scoring 15 points in a quarterfinal victory over defending champion Florida Gulf Coast before adding 18 in the semifinals. She was named to the ASUN All-Tournament Team following the run.
Her senior season followed an equally impressive debut campaign with the Hatters. Thomas was named the 2024-25 ASUN Newcomer of the Year and earned First Team All-ASUN honors after averaging 17.1 points per game and leading the league with 530 total points. She shot 49.4 percent from the field and 39.7 percent from beyond the arc while reaching double figures consistently throughout the season, including 11 games with at least 20 points.
Across her two seasons at Stetson, Thomas scored 1,051 points and led the ASUN in total scoring in consecutive years. Her résumé also included ASUN Preseason Player of the Year recognition entering her senior campaign, multiple ASUN Player of the Week honors and selection as a finalist for the 2026 Lilly Women's College All-Star Game.
Thomas will begin her professional career with one of Romania's most decorated women's basketball organizations. CSM Târgoviște competes in the Liga Națională, the top level of women's basketball in Romania, and has captured 12 national league championships during its history. The club finished fourth in the 2025-26 regular-season standings with an 11-5 record.
Based in Târgoviște, Dâmbovița, the club has also competed on the European stage during its history, including appearances in EuroLeague Women and EuroCup competition.
Thomas becomes the second member of Stetson's 2025-26 team to sign a professional contract overseas this offseason. Former teammate Promise Keshi signed with Alama San Martino di Lupari of Italy's Serie A1 in June.
Thomas originally arrived at Stetson after two seasons at Southwestern Michigan College, where she scored 1,136 career points, earned MCCAA Western Defensive Player of the Year honors and helped the Roadrunners capture conference and district championships and advance to the national tournament.
