Hatters Dominate in 43-Point Victory Over Kennesaw State

Five players score in double figures for Stetson

DeLand, Fla. -- Stetson came roaring out of the gate and never let up in cruising to a 96-53 win over Kennesaw State Saturday afternoon at the Edmunds Center.

The Hatters (16-12, 7-5 ASUN) hit 10 3-pointers and shot over 60 percent from the floor in scoring a season-high 96 points.  The 43-point win was Stetson's largest margin of victory in an ASUN game all-time.

"I felt like we executed our game plan," Stetson head coach Lynn Bria said.  "We made some adjustments from the last time we played them, and our players executed.  I thought it was a really good game for us."

Stetson had five players score in double figures, including Brittney Chambers and Sydney Wagner who led the way with 19 points apiece.  Wagner knocked down four 3-pointers and went 6-for-8 from the floor.  Chambers hit three 3-pointers and grabbed seven rebounds.

"Every player we put in the game was solid for us," Bria said.  "Sydney Wagner had a great game on both ends of the floor."

Shania Meertens scored a career-high 18 points while adding four assists and five steals.  Michelle Pruitt scored 15 points in just 17 minutes, and McKenna Beach scored 12.  Megan Vincent added nine points with six rebounds.

Vincent and Jordan Tully helped lead the defensive effort with three blocks each.

Kamiyah Street led KSU (7-16, 3-9 ASUN) with 16 points.

Stetson improved to 10-2 at home this season.

The Hatters will host Lipscomb at 7 p.m. Monday night. Stetson will honor Brittney Chambers, Johanna McMillan and Re'Nique Francis prior to the game, which is also Stetson's annual Play for Kay pink game.
