Massa Selected Assistant Director of Marketing & Promotions

Stetson University Athletics has selected Madeline "Maddie" Massa to fill the role of Assistant Director of Athletics Marketing & Promotions. She will oversee all aspects of marketing the Hatters' 18 varsity sports teams in addition in managing in venue promotions, sponsorship fulfillment and atmosphere.
 
"While Maddie is young, she gained a tremendous amount of experience in a wide variety of areas during her time at Stony Brook," Mike McKercher, Stetson Athletics' Assistant AD for External Operations, said. "She has a ton of enthusiasm and the kind of energy and work ethic you need to be successful in this position. I am pleased to have her on my staff and anxious see all she will get accomplished."
 
Massa comes to Stetson from Stony Brook University in Long Island, NY, where she worked in a variety of roles while working to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics (2016) and a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration (2018).
 
"I am both honored and excited for the opportunity to join the Stetson Athletics staff and the Hatter community," Massa said. "Everyone has been extremely welcoming and continues to affirm that this decision is the best for both my professional and personal growth. I look forward to learning from every experience and individual I meet and working with the staff, student-athletes and fans to continue to raise the bar for Hatter Gameday."
 
While at Stony Brook, Massa worked in the Athletics Department as a Marketing and Game Experience Assistant throughout her undergraduate years and into graduate school. She worked as an in-game producer, an audio technician, video board and replay operator, on-court host for in-game promotions and football tailgate manager. Massa also worked as a ticket operations intern.
 
She also served as a Resident Assistant for campus housing throughout her undergraduate years.
 
After completing her undergraduate degree, Massa worked as a Student-Athlete Development and Life Skills intern in the Stony Brook Athletic Services office. In that role she worked with student-athletes by holding one-on-one academic planning meetings, assisting in producing recruiting presentations, production of promotional materials and as creative director for the annual student-athlete awards.
 
A native of Shoreham, NY, Massa was a Presidential Scholar as an undergrad, was co-leader of the University Scholars Outreach Committee and was inducted into the National Residence Hall Honorary.
