Hatters Fall in Season Opener

UNCW's Phillip Goodrum scored a pair of goals to lead the Seahawks to a 4-0 win over Stetson in the season-opener for both teams, Friday at the Aaron Olitsky Memorial Classic in Charleston, S.C.
 
The Seahawks wasted no time in getting on the board, as David Lozano sank a penalty kick just 32 seconds into the match for a 1-0 lead.
 
The match remained a 1-0 affair until Goodrum scored his first goal of the day in the 69th minute. He gave the Seahawks a 3-0 lead with his second goal in the 82nd minute.
 
Danny Reynolds capped the scoring for UNCW with a goal in the 85th minute.
 
UNCW out-shot Stetson, 10-7. Stetson keeper Braeden Luna made one save.
 
The Hatters continue play on Sunday when they face tournament host College of Charleston at 4:30 p.m.
