Hatters Visit Georgia Southern, Host Detroit Mercy This Weekend

Stetson women's soccer is looking to bounce back this weekend when the Hatters visit Georgia Southern, 4 p.m., Friday, and host Detroit Mercy, 1 p.m., Sunday. Friday's game can be seen on ESPN+.
 
The Hatters (2-2) dropped a pair of road games last weekend, falling 1-0 at Navy, and 4-1 at George Washington. Senior Hailey Williams scored Stetson's only goal last weekend. Williams currently leads the Hatters with two goals and four points for the season.
 
Georgia Southern (1-3) split a pair of games last weekend, downing Jacksonville State (1-0) but getting blanked at Gardner-Webb (3-0). The Eagles have scored just one goal in four games this season.
 
Detroit Mercy (1-2) plays at USF on Thursday before traveling across the state to visit DeLand on Sunday. The Titans picked up a 1-0 win over Central Michigan last weekend.
 
News & Notes: Stetson is 2-4-0 all-time against Georgia Southern … the teams last met in 2013, with the Eagles earning a 2-1 win in Statesboro … the Hatters and Titans will be facing off for the third time … the teams split their previous meetings, with the first coming in 2003 (W, 1-0) and then again in 2013 (L, 0-4) … the Hatters need a win or a tie on Friday to avoid the program's first three-game losing streak since 2016.
 
Up Next: Following this weekend, the Hatters visit LSU on Sept. 6, before returning home to host Miami on Sept. 9.
