Hatters Land Three on ASUN Preseason Squad

Stetson juniors Florencia Baldassini, Lindsey Parent and Greta Watkins have been named preseason All-ASUN Conference in voting released today by the conference office. Parent was also named as the Fan Voted Preseason Player of the Year.

Additionally, the Hatters were picked to finish fourth in the 9-team ASUN. Stetson received 48 points to finish behind preseason favorite FGCU (80), Lipscomb (72), and league newcomer Liberty (56).

Baldassini, a midfielder, was an all-conference second-team selection following the 2017 season when she started all 16 games and scored five points on two goals and an assist.

Parent, a forward, won the Preseason Player of the Year fan voting on Facebook by amassing 222 total votes. As a sophomore last year, she was Stetson's third-leading scorer with nine points (4 goals, 1 assist), earning second-team all-conference honors.

Watkins, one of the ASUN's top defenders, was also a second-team All-ASUN selection last season when she played in and started 15 games. She scored a goal and had three assists in 2017.

The Hatters opened preseason camp last Wednesday, and play the first of their two exhibition games on Wednesday, Aug. 8, when they visit USF in Tampa. The Hatters host Daytona State, 7 p.m., Saturday in their second and final exhibition contest of the fall before opening the regular season on Friday, Aug. 17 at FIU.
